Question #3

A lot of stories in the world are written in either 1st person view or 3rd person view. The reason that most authors write stories in first-person view is because in first-person view allows you to go deep inside of a character's personality and find out what they are feeling. The reason that they write a story in 3rd person view is that they have a really big story going on with a lot of sub plots that one character couldn't handle. In 3rd person view, you can get an overview of what is happening all over the story instead of just what is happening with one character. The bad things about 3rd person view are that if you are reading a story and something bad happens to a character, you can't really tell what that person is feeling or thinking. With first-person view you can see what the person is thinking. 1st person view makes you feel that you are there with the main character, that you see what they see, and that you feel what they feel (emotionally). You could never do that in 3rd person view. There are however a few problems with the 1st person view. In some cases, you can only tell what the main character is thinking and nobody else. This is bad in the case that some big part of the story happens to someone other than the main character.

  1. I agree with you Evan. 1st person view is more in depth with a single character but it only shows that person. 3rd person is much better I think, even though it doesn't go in deep to people's thoughts. 3rd person view gives a great big picture though so you can see everything and understand why things affect each other.

  2. I completely agree i think you can learn more about what the person is thinking in 1st person view and really understand the person better. To me 3rd person view is more like a narrator telling the story and you can learn more about other people rather than just one person.

I disagree Evan, because sometimes you can't always see the in-depth views of a character in first person. Sometimes an author writing in third person could go in-depth with a character.
